About Lymington

Lymington at the toe of the New Forest, is the gateway to the beautiful Solent and Isle of Wight. It is no surprise that the Solent has been a popular and important sailing area since Tudor times and is it now the busiest and most popular sailing area in Britain.

The Lymington Boat Charter team are always looking for fresh and interesting ideas for things to see and places to visit along the Solent and we are constantly impressed with the interesting and beautiful routes and locations that our customers find for their sailing trips with us.

Lymington itself is a beautiful and romantic town that makes the perfect focal point for a holiday, short break or even a day out with friends or family. The town has some beautiful old cottages and picturesque cobbled streets that lead down to the attractive harbour and marina. The town forms an ideal base for trips in land to delightful scenic locations in the New Forest. These include historic locations such as Hurst Castle that sits at the end of Hurst Spit that extends almost a mile and a half into the Solent and almost touches the Isle of Wight. The town has some wonderful hotels and plenty of B&Bs if you are looking for accommodation during your visit.

Lymington with its modern and attractive marinas is also the perfect base for some scenic boat trips to some of the most attractive locations in the UK. Places like Beaulieu (Beau = ‘beautiful’ and Lieu = ‘location’ in French) was aptly named by the Normans for its attractive location. Buckler’s Hard is a historic tiny village laid out around a slipway where many of the most famous British sailing ships were built in the 18th century using timber felled in the nearby New Forest. Both locations are well worth a visit and they are each just a short boat cruise from Lymington along the Hamble – so they make an interesting short cruise or a very attractive diversion if you are organising a boat charter hire to some of the other famous and interesting locations further away.

Of course, Lymington is just a short distance away from: Portsmouth, Southampton Water and the Isle of Wight so these are all ideal boat charter hire destinations particularly when there are events taking place on the water.

If you are interested in a skippered charter hire boat cruise on the Solent and want to travel your own route in a luxurious, modern boat then why not contact us now on: 07970 649874 (Mark) or: 07976 818579 (Nadia) for a friendly, no obligation chat about your plans and ideas.
